#ƧTIGMA

Saturday, July 27, 2019, 2pm - 5pm
Artist in Residence Chloe Helen Calthorpe Dillon Stewart exhibited works produced during her residency with us, focusing on the concepts and realities of stigma and mental illness.Stewart says: “During my residency at Splendora Gardens- I unturned a puzzle piece of mental illness & addiction. In this exhibition, I explored the feelings of a person suffering in body and mind, as well as remind us that #ƧTIGMA still exists. I am using printmaking, photography, painting, and sculpture as a viewer to exhibit something that is so intangible it can’t presently be seen or touched. The exhibition '#ƧTIGMA. Haven’t we got it backwards?' is dedicated to my late psychiatrist Dr. David Love, who despite giving up hope, gave me hope in life.”
